Etymology: erinaceus (Lat.) - hedgehog

Distribution: Kenya (Marsabit, Mandera) close to Ethiopean border.

History: The plant was first discovered by Jan Bewington Gillet in Dandu in northern Kenya close to Ethiopean border in March 1952. Peter René Oscar Bally published it in (1956).
