Etymology: erinaceus (Lat.) - hedgehog

Distribution: Kenya (Marsabit, Mandera) close to Ethiopean border.

The plant was first discovered by Jan Bewington Gillet in Dandu in northern Kenya close to Ethiopean border in March 1952. Peter René Oscar Bally published it in (1956).
