Etymology: erectus (Lat.) - erect, upright; lobos (Gr.) - lobe; with upright corolla lobes
Distribution: Moçambique (Cabo Delgado, Nampula, Niassa, Zambésia).
History: The plant was first discovered by Antonio Rocha da Tôrre, botanical collector and pharmacist from Portugal, in 1937 near Nampula in Mocambique. It was recolected by Larry Leach and Rob Rutherford-Smith in May 1963 and described two year later by Larry Leach and John Lavranos (1963).
